Help
How-to guides for every task in drillmate, by role and by job.
Getting started
- Getting started as a club ownerSet up your club in drillmate: its name and crest, the first team, your coaches, the membership fee and the club's rules.
- Getting started as a coach in a clubJoin your club with the code it sent you, then plan trainings, follow who is coming and take the register for your teams.
- Getting started as a coach on your ownCoach your own team without a club: make the team, add players, schedule the first training and link the families.
- Getting started as a parentLink your child with the code from the coach, then follow trainings and matches and tell the coach whether your child is coming.
- Getting started as a player (16 and over)From 16 you can follow your own trainings: get a player code from your club, say whether you are coming and tell the coach how hard the training was.
- Your child's own account (13–15)A child of 13, 14 or 15 can follow their own trainings on their own phone, with a parent's approval. The parent sees everything they answer and can switch the account off at any time.
- Getting started as a treasurerAs the club's treasurer you keep the membership fee records: who paid, who is late, and the club's monthly report. No money goes through drillmate — you record the payments the club received.
- Getting started as staffOn a team's staff you take the register, follow who is coming and write notes on players. The coach changes the plan and the times. A staff seat is free for the club.
Teams and training
- Teams and playersCreate a team by birth year, set its training days, and keep its squad: players, codes for the families, and who left.
- Import players from Excel or CSVBring a whole squad in at once from a spreadsheet, or by pasting rows from Excel, instead of typing every player.
- Drills and training plansPick drills from the library or write your own, then build a training plan, or let drillmate suggest one from your team's focus.
- Scheduling and who's comingRegular training days appear by themselves; you book a training when you want the families to answer. Then you see who is coming, and remind those who have not answered.
- Field mode and attendanceRun the training from your phone on the pitch, drill by drill, then take the register, write quick notes and send the families a summary.
- MatchesBook a match, pick the lineup from the families' answers, enter the result after kick-off and send it to the parents. drillmate does not run a match live: there is no clock, no substitutions and no minutes or goals per player.
Club and family
- AnnouncementsPost a notice to a team or to the whole club. It reaches the families and the staff as a notification, and you see who has read it. Announcements are one-way: drillmate has no chat.
- Codes and linking a familydrillmate links people with short codes: a parent to their child, a player to their own record, a coach or staff member to a club. Nobody sees a child's information without a code from the club.
- Membership feesKeep a record of who paid the monthly fee, who is late and who is exempt, and remind families. drillmate only records payments: no money passes through the app. Families pay the club the way they always have.
- Documents and certificatesdrillmate makes PDFs from what is already recorded: monthly and season reports, certificates for school or a visa, a payment statement, season diplomas and the clearance when a player leaves. Every PDF carries the club's name and crest.
- Kit and sizesKeep track of the kit the club hands to players and what has to come back, see every child's sizes before an order, and count the club's training equipment.
- Days off and venuesMark holidays and breaks so regular trainings are not offered on those days, and keep the club's venues with an address families can open in maps.
Your account
- Notificationsdrillmate tells each person only what concerns them, as a notification on the phone. You choose which kinds you get and when the reminder comes.
- Privacy and your dataWhat drillmate keeps, who sees it, and how to take a copy of your data or delete your account. The full text is in the privacy policy.
- Subscriptions and plansdrillmate has three plans: Kickoff (free), Coach for a coach on their own, and Club for a club with several coaches. Parents, players and staff members never pay.
- Signed in with Apple but your teams are missingYou signed in with "Continue with Apple" and drillmate looks new: no teams, no club. Most often Apple gave drillmate a hidden address, so this is a second account.
