Deleting your drillmate account
This page explains how to delete your account in drillmate, the training planner for football coaches, clubs and parents (iOS, Android and web), and what happens to your data when you do.
How to delete your account in the app
- Sign in to drillmate on your phone or on the web.
- Open Privacy and data: in the coach app Menu › Privacy and data, in the family app Account › Privacy and data, on the web Settings › Privacy and data.
- Choose Delete account.
- Type DELETE to confirm and tap Delete my account.
- If you signed in more than 15 minutes ago, drillmate asks for your password first, so that nobody else can delete the account from a phone you left signed in.
The account is deleted at once and you are signed out. Deletion cannot be undone. If you want a copy of your data first, use Export my data in the same place (a JSON file) before you delete.
When the app asks you to do something first
- You own a club that has other members. Make another admin or coach the owner first (Club tab › People, open the member, Transfer ownership; without a Club tab: Menu › Coaches and staff), then delete your account.
- Your paid subscription still renews. Cancel it first: a Coach subscription in your App Store or Google Play account; a Club subscription through the "Manage subscription" link in Paddle's emails or in drillmate under Menu › Subscription. Then delete the account; otherwise the subscription would keep charging.
What is deleted
- Your account: email address, name, password (stored only as a hash), sign-in sessions, the record of when you accepted the terms.
- Your notification settings, the push tokens of your devices and your calendar links.
- Your membership in the club and your place on its teams.
- Invitation codes you made for staff, which stop working.
- As a parent: each child that no other parent looks after in drillmate, with the child's trophies — unless the player follows the record with their own account. The club's player record stays, no longer linked to you.
- As a player with your own account (13 to 15 with a parent's approval, or 16 and over): the link to your player record. The record itself stays with the club and any parent who holds it.
- A child's own account (13 to 15) that a parent switches off is deleted in the same way, at once.
- If you are the only member of your organisation (a coach working on their own): the organisation and everything in it — teams, players, trainings, attendance, notes, matches, fee records and your drills.
What a club keeps, without your name
drillmate keeps what belongs to a club's work with its players, so that one person leaving does not erase the club's records:
- Drills you wrote for a club stay in the club's library, shown as written by a "Former coach".
- Drills of yours that other clubs already use in their training plans stay available to them, with no author and no organisation.
- Notes, match ratings and fee records you entered stay with the club's players; your name is removed from them.
- The club's membership history records that a member deleted their account, with the role they had, but not who it was. It is kept for 3 years.
What drillmate keeps for a limited time
- Backups. Encrypted daily backups still contain the account until they are replaced, at most 30 days after the deletion.
- Billing records. If your organisation is deleted, the record of its subscription payments (amount, currency, type of event) is kept without the payment provider's details, for as long as tax law requires. Apple, Google, Paddle and RevenueCat keep their own purchase records under their own terms.
- Error reports. Reports already sent to Sentry carry a random account identifier, no name and no email, and are deleted by Sentry after 90 days.
- Audit log. If drillmate staff looked up your account for support, that entry in the staff audit log is kept for 2 years.
- Server logs (the account identifier of each request, no IP address) are overwritten as the logs rotate; each service keeps at most 100 MB of logs.
Deleting your account without the app
If you cannot sign in, write to privacy@drillmate.app from the email address of the account and ask for it to be deleted. We may ask you to confirm that the address is yours. We delete the account in the same way as the app does, within 30 days, and tell you when it is done.
