Getting started as a coach in a club
Join your club with the code it sent you, then plan trainings, follow who is coming and take the register for your teams.
Join the club
Your club's owner or an admin sends you a code (or a link with it). The code works for 14 days, for one person.
- Open the link, or install drillmate and tap "I have a code" on the first screen.
- Enter the code, then create your account (or sign in if you have one).
- You see the club, the role you are invited as and your teams. Tap "Join".
Already using drillmate? Open "Menu" › "I have a code" and enter it there. If your account has its own teams and drills, the app asks first: "Bring them and join" moves them into the club, where they stay if you ever leave. If you pay for Coach yourself, cancel it in the App Store or Google Play first — the club pays for your seat.
What you see
The tabs are "Overview", "Teams", "Drills" and "Menu". "Overview" shows your next training, who is coming, your week and what is waiting for you. "Teams" opens each of your teams with its sections: "Overview", "Schedule", "Players", "Announcements" and "Reports".
The "First steps" card welcomes you with your teams and two steps:
- "Send the codes to parents" — each player has a code; a parent types it into the app. See Codes and linking a family.
- "Make the first training plan" — drills from the library, in the order you run them. See Drills and training plans.
Your week
- Schedule trainings and matches with "+" › "Training" or "Match" on "Overview". Families are asked whether their child is coming. See Scheduling and who's coming.
- Before the training, open it to see who is coming and remind those who have not answered.
- On the pitch, take the register in field mode. See Field mode and attendance.
If you cannot make it
Open the training, choose "I need a cover" under "More" and pick a colleague from the club. Once they accept, they lead that one training only, and the families are told.
Making teams
Coaches may create teams unless the club turned it off on its profile. If you read "The club’s management makes teams", ask the owner or an admin.
