Import players from Excel or CSV
Bring a whole squad in at once from a spreadsheet, or by pasting rows from Excel, instead of typing every player.
Who can import
The club's owner and admins, and the team's coach. Staff members cannot.
Prepare the file
- One player per row. The first row may name the columns.
- Columns drillmate understands: Full name (or First name and Last name), Shirt number, Position, Year of birth. Only the name is required.
- Column names in English, Bosnian, Croatian or Serbian (Latin or Cyrillic) are recognised. Without a header row, drillmate guesses from the content.
- The year of birth may also be a full date; the year is taken from it.
- Save as .xlsx or .csv. Old .xls files are not read: save them as .xlsx first.
- At most 5 MB and 500 rows per import. Split a bigger file.
On the web, the first step of the import offers a ready Excel template and CSV template to fill in.
Import
- Open the team, then Players.
- Tap Import on the phone, or Import players on the web.
- Choose file, or paste rows copied from Excel and tap Use pasted rows.
- Match the columns: check what each column holds. Set a column you do not want to Don’t import. If the first row is not a header, turn off The first row names the columns.
- Check the players. Every row has a status:
- New — will be added.
- Already there — the same name (ignoring capitals, accents and spaces) with the same year of birth, or none, is already on the squad or earlier in the file.
- Can’t import — the row says why: name missing, number not 1–99, position or year of birth not valid.
- Turn off any row you want to skip, then tap Import N players.
The players join the team that day. Each one gets a code on their profile for the parents.
Undo an import
Right after importing, tap Remove the imported players. Only the players this import added are deleted; players who were already on the squad stay.
Parent emails
A parent email column is read but not used yet. Families join with each player's code. See Codes and linking a family.
