Matches
Book a match, pick the lineup from the families' answers, enter the result after kick-off and send it to the parents. drillmate does not run a match live: there is no clock, no substitutions and no minutes or goals per player.
Set a team's match day
In Edit team, under Matches, set the Usual match day and the Usual kick-off. That day then waits on the schedule as a match day until you book a match.
Book a match
- Tap + on Overview and choose a match, or open the team's match day and tap New match.
- Enter the Opponent, home or away, the date and kick-off, the place and when the squad should Meet at.
- Optionally set the Format (5 v 5 … 11 v 11) and the periods, and add a note for the families.
- Tap Book. Every family on the team is notified and can say whether their child is coming.
A match is moved, postponed or cancelled the same way as a training. See Scheduling and who's coming.
Pick the lineup
- Open the match and tap Lineup.
- Each player is Starting, Bench or Absent. The families' answers are suggested: a player whose family said "not coming" starts as absent.
- Tap Save the lineup. If more players start than the format allows, you are told, but it can still be saved.
Enter the result
After kick-off, open the match and tap Enter the result. Enter the goals for Us and Them (0–99) and save. You can correct or remove it later.
A result cannot be entered before kick-off, or for a postponed or cancelled match. The team's coaches and the club's owner and admins enter it; staff members do not.
Send the summary to the parents
With the result entered, tap Send to parents under Summary for parents. It goes to the families of the players in the squad who have not turned it off, and opens the match's page with the result and whether their child started or came off the bench.
Ratings
After kick-off the staff can rate players from 1 to 5 stars, with one line of note. Ratings are optional, for the staff only, never shown to families and never averaged.
What families see
Families see the match in their schedule in its own colour, answer whether their child is coming, and after the match see the result and their child's part in it: in the starting lineup or off the bench.
