Getting started as a coach on your own
Coach your own team without a club: make the team, add players, schedule the first training and link the families.
Create your account
- Install drillmate and tap "Create account". You can also start on the web.
- Sign up with your email, or "Continue with Apple" or "Continue with Google".
- When the app asks "How will you use drillmate?", choose "I coach a team" and tap "Continue". You never have to name a club.
You start on the free Kickoff plan: one team, five drills of your own and one plan suggestion a week. The whole drill library is yours to use.
Follow the first steps
The "First steps" card on "Overview" ticks each step once it is really done:
- "Create a team" — "Teams" › "+". Birth year, training days and venue.
- "Add players" — a name is enough; number and position can wait. You can also import a list from Excel or CSV. See Import players from Excel or CSV.
- "Schedule the first training" — families are asked whether their child is coming.
- "Send the codes to parents" — every player has a code; a parent types it into the app. See Codes and linking a family.
Your tabs
"Overview" (your next training, who is coming, your week), "Teams", "Drills" and "Menu". In "Menu", the group "My coaching" holds the name families see, "My venues" and "Days off".
Coach plan
For more teams and drills, buy Coach in the phone app: "Menu" › "Subscription". It is paid through the App Store or Google Play. See Subscriptions and plans.
Moving into a club later
If a club invites you, enter its code in "Menu" › "I have a code". The app asks what happens to your teams and drills: "Bring them and join" moves them into the club. Cancel your own Coach subscription first — the club pays for your seat.
