Codes and linking a family

drillmate links people with short codes: a parent to their child, a player to their own record, a coach or staff member to a club. Nobody sees a child's information without a code from the club.

Every code has 8 letters and digits. Whoever receives one opens drillmate, taps I have a code (in the Menu, or on the first screen when signing up) and enters it. A code sent as a link fills itself in.

A code for a parent

The team's coaches and the club's owner and admins hand them out.

  1. Open the player's profile and find Parents.
  2. Tap Send code and send it by any messenger.

The code is valid for 14 days and links up to two parents. After that, the profile shows a new one. A linked parent sees their child's schedule, answers whether the child is coming, and sees attendance, shared notes, trophies and fees — never the other players.

A code for the player (16 and over)

A player aged 16 or more (by the year of birth the club wrote) can have their own account.

  1. On the player's profile, under Parents, switch Code for to The player.
  2. Tap Send the code to the player.

The code links one account. The player then follows their own trainings, answers for themselves, and can report how hard a training was or that they are injured. A parent can stay linked too.

A child of 13 to 15

A younger player gets an account only with a parent's approval: the parent approves on the child's page and gives the child their own code. See A child's own account (13–15).

A code for a coach or staff member

On the Club plan, the club's owner invites anyone; an admin invites coaches and staff.

  1. Open Club › People (or Coaches and staff) and tap Invite.
  2. Choose the Role and, optionally, the Teams and what they do on each.
  3. Send the code. It works for 14 days, for one person.

The person enters it under I have a code and taps Join. A coach who already has teams and drills of their own can bring them: Bring them and join moves them into the club, where they stay.
